Halloween 2010

Okay, you're going to love this...we thought Merryn had a great bunny costume. Apparently it is actually a pink poodle costume. Very fitting, because guess what was the high-light of her Halloween? You got it-the dogs! A lot of people have dogs for pets...so you can imagine the little pink poodle that hears a dog in the house after the door opens. She give a quick bark herself, attempts to ditch the treat bag and let let herself in the house to find that barking dog. Ha! Beware of Merryn trick or treating in your neighborhood next year if you own a dog!! You may now have one more barking dog.

There is a bunny loose in our house!

Trying out the costume...the FS office has an afternoon of trick or treating planned for the employee families this week.

This bunny's favorite new snack is popcorn.

Pouring over the HUNTING 2010 magazine. Makes her daddy proud!

The mighty hunter has bagged one antelope so far this season. Merryn was in charge of protecting the meat from Ginger's longing eyes and stirring the sausage blend.

33 pounds of meat in the freezer!

It's a short post, but just so you know we really do takes photos and think about you all!

First Braids and More

Hey! Somebody took off with our baby girl...and swapped her for a toddler! First braids for the little miss (don't mind the part that isn't perfect!).

So you have had plenty of warning about our stunt girl. This is what we get for taking her to the rodeo where the entertainment is stunt women on horses! BTW, this comes with no prompting.

And she is clever one! She is learning body parts...and loves to point out the owl because of the eyes. What a hoot!

Summer Vacation 2010

The babysitter wasn't available for a week in August, so we decided it was a great time to take a vacation. We visited the Amanda's parents in MN and then on to MI to visit Seth's family. The beaches on Lake Michigan have captured all of our hearts! Merryn had no fear of the water...as in she did not want to hold our hands, plunked her face in the water over and over, and ran laughing into the waves. Needless to say, we both have a few more gray hairs!

First stop, Como Zoo. The butterfly conservatory was fabulous!

Next stop, beach on the lake near Paul and Melody's house.

The Minnesota Zoo was great, but the farm really was the hit for Merryn!

Here we come MI! Roadtripping...

Learning to play tea with Granny Sal. She is a pro now!

Need we post any more photos? This is the epitome of summer vacation. Sitting in the water on a hot day while eating ice cream.

Playing on the pier at sunset.

Seth took a quick flight with Uncle Kim. Merryn now picks out every airplane in the sky and uses the sign. Ha ha!

BBQing and playing good music.

The shirt says it all!

She adores shoes! A girl after my own heart.

Beach bums on Lake Michigan.

Our gracious hosts in Michigan. Thanks Granny Sal and Grandpa Jer!

Cousins Aldan and Atlee also joined us for good times in MI. Alas, we don't have lots of pictures of them. So you will have to visit their blog!

Okay, so it's pretty lame how long it has been since we posted. Merryn is nearly driving! Not really...but she has almost left the baby stage behind and is a little girl now. Amanda is in the groove of her work schedule and is so grateful to have found a sitter that comes to our house. Merryn really enjoys her buddy, Kolter, who comes to play during the day. Seth has been working hard to keep our patch of a lawn nice and green for Merryn to play. And we survived convention with a one year old! Ha ha!! Now we are looking forward to a vacation to MN and MI to visit family. So here goes...a whole mess of our favorite photos, most recent first!

Taking Ginger's temperature...

New garage sale find...

Happy birthday Aunt Laura and Grandma Alice!

Scooter riding tips from cousin Jack.

Did we not warn you we have a stunt woman on our hands??!

We all caught a nasty summer bug, so she's always "blowing" her nose. Ha ha!

Trying out Daddy's new mower...

Her favorite hangout...Ginger's house!

Going on a ride with Daddy.

A little help from her friends!

Seeing Grandma Hendrix for a few days.

Aren't these curls great?

Faster, Daddy, faster!!

Woot woot for raised beds!

I think we all feel like sitting on our laptop some days...

Enjoying Mommy's pretty anniversary flowers.

Good thing for high ceilings...because those are tears of joy!

One of our favorite expressions we see a lot of...

Sporting her alapca digs delivered by Uncle Damon from Peru.

Practicing up on her snorkeling skills for the next trip to Hawaii!
